About the Ontario SPCA

The Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch runs solely on donations and needs YOUR HELP to continue their vital work. If you would like to know how you can help the shelter, please call us (613-588-4508), email us, or check out our website for suggestions.

Each year the Renfrew County Branch saves thousands of lives! We help give homeless, abused and abandoned animals a second chance! Thanks to EACH AND EVERYONE of our gracious volunteeres and supporters!

OUR MISSION

The Ontario SPCA's mission is to facilitate and provide for province-wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal welfare.

The Ontario SPCA is seen as the recognized authority on animal welfare issues and making a measurable difference for animals. The Ontario SPCA is an integral part of each community, promoting mutually beneficial human-animal interactions, and is viewed as a desirable organization for volunteerism and support.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The shelter is open daily:
Mon - Fri : 10:00am - 5:00pm
Weekends: 10:00am- 4:00pm
We are closed on statutory holidays.

DIRECTIONS

The Renfrew County Branch shelter is located in Petawawa at 387 Paquette Rd.

From Petawawa or Pembroke:
Follow the main road Pembroke St to Petawawa Blvd to the main entrance of CFB Petawawa
Turn left onto Paquette Rd
The shelter is 2 km down the road on the left hand side.

From all other locations:
Access Highway 17 to Petawawa
Exit at CFB Petawawa onto Paquette Rd
The shelter is on the right hand side just after you exit the highway

We accept and place for adoption all types of domestic pets including birds, rodents and reptiles.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!

We are always looking for folks to join our Volunteer Team!

Here are some of the things our volunteers are up to:

Foster Care
Bingo Country and Civitan Bingos
Dog Walking, Training & Socializing
Cat Cuddling, Socializing & Grooming
Participate &/or Plan Special Events
Help with Humane Education Efforts
..the possibilities are endless when it comes to helping out! contact the shelter today to sign of up for an Orientation session!
