Volunteer Appreciation Night Recap!

Young and old turned out for Volunteer Appreciation Night 2009!
The Volunteer Appreciation Night was a night to thank our volunteers for all their efforts and recognize who extremely special they are to us!
Every year our volunteers help out the shelter in amazing ways including fostering, dog walking, cat cuddling, and fundraising.

Brad one one of our draw winners!
He won a new edition of our cookbook (this year the theme is fast meals) and a volunteer t-shirt.

Gloria was another one of our draw winners!
She won a day with our Animal Cruelty Agent during "Be Kind to Animals Week".

Rick was the recipient of the "Poop Patrol" award!
He is now known as our resident "Poop Patrol Officer".

Julie, Lea and Melanie were all recipients of our "Shelter Super Star" award.
They are the brightest shooting stars in our sky of volunteers :)

Doug is our Bingo Buff!! He won the "Bingo Buff" award for all his efforts to keep our bingo running smoothly!

Jill was the recipient of our "Night Owl" award!
She attends every bingo without fail! We are so glad to have a real night owl in our crowd!

Norma was the recipient of our "Bunny's Honey" award!
She's never met a rabbit she didn't like and she takes the time to cuddle all our rabbits - not matter how many we have!

Rick was one of the 4 volunteers to win the "Dog's Best Friend" award!
He has put in numerous hours training, walking and socializing our shelter dogs.

Leona was one of the winners of the "Queen of the Cat Room" award!
She helps the shelter staff clean, feed and socialize our felines.

Carolyn was another winner of the "Queen of the Cat Room" award.
She donates her time of the weekend to help take care of our shelter cats.

The ladies of the Ward Family accepted the "King of the Cat Room" award on Ashley's behalf. Ashley has not only rallied up his wife and daughters to volunteer at the shelter, he also donates his time at the shelter. He also primed the cat room for it's recent paint job.

Erin introduces herself to new volunteers and give a big HELLO to the volunteers she already knows. She's been off on maternity leave and will be back in acting at the shelter on May 11th as the Volunteer & Humane Education Coordinator.

Jamie during the award ceremony. Jamie has been filling in for Erin since August as the Volunteer and Humane Education Coordinator.
