All for Animals Charity Auction 2008

Plans for the "All for Animals Charity Auction" are in full swing! One of our cats decided to help out by modeling one of the donations that will be auctioned off on November 15th at the Petawawa Civic Centre. The funny part about his "help" was that he didn't want to get out of the pet carrier after!

We're still looking for donations of new items to auction off. If you can donate please contact the shelter or drop by with your donation. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

We're also looking for volunteers to help us out the day of the event. If you can spare a few hours on November 15th to help us out please contact Jamie by calling 613-588-4508 or by sending her an email.

Please mark down November 15th on your calendar. The auction preview starts at noon and the sale starts at 1pm. There will also be a silent auction :)

Charity Bazaar

Kathy was the ring leader at our table during the Pembroke Mall Charity Bazaar on Wednesday September 24th. Thanks to Kathy's commitment we were able to raise almost $170! We had baked goodies for sale ... some for pets, and some for their people! Thank you to all who baked for us including Sara, Brandi, Lisa, and Kathy! We also had OSPCA merchandise on hand including the last 3 editions of our cookbooks, bandannas, stickers, hats and a few pet crafts (have you heard about our pet towels to dry off those dirty paws?). If you would like more information on our cookbooks please drop by the shelter or give us a call! Also, watch for us (and our unique pet towels) at the Petawawa Civic Centre Craft Show on Dec 7th and at the West End Mall in Pembroke on Dec 13th. For online merchandise check out our online store!

Thanks again to Kathy for running our table and THANK YOU to all the generous people who donated or supported us at the charity bazaar!

A Great Weekend for the Shelter!

It was a great weekend for the shelter!

.

The garage sale was a success raising $3400! A huge thank you goes out to all the wonderful volunteers that helped us out with this massive undertaking! Each and every individual that came out to help formed a incomparable team to get the job done right! We would also like to extend a special thank you to the leader of the pack, Lea Thompson, who was the master mind behind the event. We would also like to thank the team at Smitty’s Home Hardware for letting us hold the event in their parking lot. We didn’t stop traffic this year but sure had a good turn out!

We also had a great weekend for adoptions. We found homes for 5 cats/kittens including 2 kittens that Melanie and Brad took to the Leisure Show. We would like to thank Melanie and Brad for representing the OSPCA so well and helping to find homes for 2 cuddly kittens! We also adopted out 4 hamsters and our bird “Cheesie”.

.

Bingo at the Civitan Club also went off without a hitch! Thanks so much to Jill and June who represented the OSPCA at this bingo! Without these Ladies this bingo couldn’t have ran so thanks again!

.

Last weekend (Aug 30th), Bingo at Bingo Country was held. Not only did this bingo run smoothly it ran smoothly on an extremely busy night! They had a turn out of over 200 people! Thanks so much to Gail, Jill, Sherry-Lyn, Doug and Petra who made sure that this fundraiser happened! Just like the Civitan Club, without these valuable volunteers this bingo couldn’t have ran! You are truly appreciated!

.

Thanks for all your valuable help everyone! Together we are saving lives!

Dog Month was a Success!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the caring people who opened up their homes to our shelter dogs this month! With everyone's help we were able to find homes for 16 dogs which exceed our goal of adopting out 15 dogs for the month of August! We could not have achieved our goal without the continued support of our volunteers! Along with our staff, our volunteers played a vital part in socializing, walking, and otherwise getting the dogs ready for their new homes!

A big congratulations goes out to the dogs who found their perfect match through the OSPCA including Nacho, Jack, Rudy, Grayson, Kaley, Casey, Yogi, TJ, Mitsy, Leroy, Ollie, Franny, Teddy, Daisy (the first), Buddy, and Daisy (the second).

We would also like to congratulate the 47 cats who found a home during the month of August!

Good job team! Let’s keep seeing those adoption numbers climb!
