It's hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the summer. While you might be relaxing on the deck and soaking up the sun, there are tons of goings-on at the shelter. Here are a few things worth mentioning...
Sunday Sundaes!
On Sunday, July 27, the shelter will be hosting the 2nd Annual Ice Cream Social. The event will take place from 12:00pm-3:00pm at the shelter grounds. Kids of all ages LOVE the build your own sundae bar - bring your dog for a free cone!!
Adopt-a-Cat-a-Thon
Thank you so much to everyone who adopted a cat during June's Adopt-a-Cat-a-Thon. In total there were 25 cats who found their fur-ever homes during the month. A hearty thank you comes from those cats in particular, and we hope that their new families are enjoying the new addition to their homes.
Yard Sale
We are revving up for this year's yard sale, taking place at Smitty's Home Hardware on September 6. Staff and volunteers are busy pricing the items that have already so generously been donated, but we continue to look for more items. Please drop off your donations to the shelter any time!
Goodbye!
Anyone who has spent time at the shelter will know Brieanne. A hard-working dedicated staff member, Brieanne is a welcoming, friendly face to anyone who walks through the doors. It will therefore be difficult to say goodbye to her, as Brieanne packs her things and moves back to her old stomping grounds in Alberta at the end of this month. Thank you so much for all your hard work, Brieanne, we will miss you!
Happy Endings!
Many volunteers are familiar with Tango, the happy-go-lucky dog who, for some reason, found himself at the shelter for quite a few weeks. A beautiful dog with a marvelous personality, it was a mystery to staff and volunteers as to why he was here for so long. It is our pleasure to announce that Tango was adopted, and is now living the good life with his fur-ever family. Congratulations, Tango and family, we couldn't be happier!
