Cat Adopt-a-thon is on!

June is just around the corner and that means that our Walk-a-thon is over and the grand total is in! In total we earned over 14000$ thanks to all of the pledges and support from the community and, especially, our wonderful volunteers. The money raised will help a lot of animals find loving homes:)
With the Walk-a-thon over, the shelter staff are shifting focus towards our Cat Adopt-a-thon which will be taking place on June 14th. With the spring and summer months upon us, cat and kitten numbers are up at the shelter and we want to find them all wondeful homes! The Adopt-a-thon will include a bbq at the shelter as well as information about all of our wonderful cat friends:)

We have had a few great adoptions at the shelter recently- our lively finch got adopted into a loving home and a few of the kittens were taken home almost as soon as they were ready to be adopted.

Spring Clean-up pictures!

Cleaning up and Walking on!

The Spring Clean-up has come and gone and the the shelter grounds are looking spic and span for the coming summer months! Volunteers and staff raked, washed, tidied and swept, all the while having a great time with their fellow cleaners:) It was a great way to welcome in the new season! A seperate post with pictures from the clean-up will follow:)

Coming up is our 2-day Walk-a-thon in Deep River and Petawawa. The Walk-a-thon is a huge fundraiser for the shelter and we're looking forward to our best event yet:)
The Walk-a-thon will be taking place in Deep River on Saturday, May 24th and the Walk in Petawawa is on Sunday, May 25th. For any and all information about the walks visit our website!

We've had some great adoptions at the shelter recently... Eliza, the friendly St. Bernard, went home with a wonderful family yesterday and we had 9 kittens adopted over the weekend. Great news all around!
